Social work practice in marginalized Roma communities

Presentation ELENA ONDRU¿KOVÁ, PhD.:
She is working as a researcher at the Research Centre of the Institute of Social Studies and Therapeutic Pedagogy at Faculty of Education. She has been dedicated to gender research and feminist theory and the application into gender sensitive practice particularly social work practice.

In the social work study at the Department of Social Work she is the lecturer in courses Introduction to Gender Studies and Gender Studies and lecturer of feminist theories too. However she is dealing with gender aspects of divorce parenting and child development risk prevention during the divorce. She was working as a counsellor in the Centre of psychological and individual counselling services.

The other topic of her interest is associated with socially excluded communities and individuals, especially, Roma marginalised communities. She (with other colleague) was coordinator of the proces creating standards for social work in the field specifically oriented on social work in RMC.
